Microsoft knows how to connect multiple mice and keyboards to one PC
Microsoft plans to commercialize MultiPoint technology, allowing the use of multiple mice or other input devices with one PC in parallel. The technology was developed by the Indian division of the company for local schools, where one computer often has up to 40 students. At the same time, only one of them actively works with a PC, and the rest are assigned the role of spectators.
According to Microsoft, MultiPoint will significantly improve the learning process, allowing multiple students to interact interactively with a PC at once.
It is hard to imagine how students will fight for the cursor, having gathered in a group of more than two or three people. It seems that when children from developing countries have a choice between such a “collective farm” and the same OLPC laptop, the decision will definitely not be in favor of MultiPoint.
MultiPoint technology works with Windows XP and Windows Vista, and the development kit (SDK) will be available in January 2021.
