I-O Data Updates HDL-F and HDC-UX Series with 320GB Models
I-O Data Corp. Announces Expansion of its HDL-F and eSATA / USB 2 Network Attached Hard Disk Drives.0-series HDC-UX, new 320GB models. The new items are expected to go on sale in mid-January. HDL-F320 will cost about $ 245, HDC-UX320 – about $ 210.
I must say that the new models provide only 20 GB more capacity than the previous flagships of the series (300 GB). An interesting feature of the HDL-F series, positioned for creating network storage systems of small capacity, is the use of a system-on-a-chip (SoC), in which a processor and an Ethernet controller are integrated. Samba, NetaTalk, FTP and AVeL protocols are supported, a print server under Windows (it is possible to connect a printer or additional drives, for example, of the same HDC-UX series, via the available three USB 2 ports.0).
The manufacturer guarantees the operability of the device under Windows 98 / Me / 2000 / XP and Mac OS 8.nineteen.2.2, Mac OS X 10.1 – 10.four.four. Drive dimensions are 49?193.9?174.9 mm, weight – 1.4 kg.
HDC-UX supports two interfaces: USB 2.0 (480 Mbps) and eSATA (150 Mbps), downloadable when connected to a PC using the latest interface. The efficiency of the eSATA interface is declared under Windows 2000 / XP and Mac OS X 10.2 – 10.four.8, USB – Windows 98 / Me and Mac OS 9.nineteen.2.2 as well as Mac OS X 10.one. Drive dimensions are 38?197?121 mm, weight – 1.1 kg.
