Hacked HD video protection system used in HD DVD and Blu-ray

A visitor to the Doom9 forum, aka arnezami, has published a universal “processing” key, the missing link that will decrypt the DRM (Digital Rights Management) protection system of any high-definition video file. Thus, from now on, copying any of the movies on HD DVD and Blu-ray discs will not be difficult.
The generic key is located in the MKBROM file.AACS, available on each of these media, “hacking” is carried out by replacing a small section of the code of this file.

Those wishing to familiarize themselves with the details of the autopsy of the hitherto seemingly impregnable (until now, enthusiasts have been able to copy only a small number of HD films) AACS protection can do it at the following link (in English).

There is little doubt that the Software news line will soon be flooded with programs that allow you to make “legal backups of your HD DVD and Blu-ray discs.”.
