Hi Mitch, I installed the Orbit Sphere AF drivers v from the LOGITECH support downloads page and once installed the W10 camera app, ZOOM and TEAMS had no problem in detecting and using the webcam. I will mention that once or twice the camera has stopped being responsive and a simple reboot seems to solve the problem. Kind Regards. IBM won’t bail out Crolles2

Today we have already touched upon the topic of the sometimes difficult relationship between manufacturers of semiconductor microcircuits in terms of improving existing and developing new technologies. Last year, when rumors first surfaced that NXP would leave the Crolles2 alliance, it was speculated that it would be replaced by IBM. However, today, according to a source, IBM announced that it does not intend to join the alliance.

Crolles2 was created in 2000 by STMicroelectronics and Philips Semiconductors (now NXP). Two years later, the North American company joined the two European companies – Freescale joined the alliance with the goal of collaborating on the development and industrialization of CMOS processes, ranging from 90 nm to 32 nm.

However, NXP has decided not to renew its partnership with Crolles2 after the end of the current agreement (until the end of 2021). Instead, NXP has decided to expand its cooperation agreement with Taiwan-based semiconductor IC manufacturer TSMC.

On the other hand, as it became known a little earlier, Freescale decided to join IBM, which cannot but raise questions about the degree of the company’s participation in the alliance.

Remaining in the minority, STMicroelectronics and TSMC, however, insist that they will continue to cooperate in the framework of Crolles2. Although, by and large, this is just an attempt to keep a good face with the de facto de facto structure of the Bose, in which, in fact, there is only one company left – STMicroelectronics.
