Concurrent Computer: iHawk VME real-time system
Concurrent Computer Announces Delivery of iHawk VME, Its First VME / VXS Compliant Real-Time Data Processing System. The backbone-modular standard VME (Versa Module Eurocard) was developed and supported by the international VITA Association (VME International Trade Association), it is used mainly in military and aviation systems. VITA 41 VXS is an update to VME, this standard has added support for modern serial interfaces.
IHawk VME uses dual-core Intel Core Duo and Core 2 Duo processors, the system can be equipped with RAM with a volume of 1 to 4 GB. IHawk VME enclosure is designed for installation in VME standard racks and has removable bays for peripheral devices. Its height, depending on the model, ranges from 3U to 12U. The novelty can be equipped with Ultra320 SCSI, SAS and SATA drives.
The system also includes RCIM (Real-Time Clock and Interrupt Module), serial ports (RS-232), USB 2 ports.0, GPIO. Expansion buses include VME64x A32, D64 Master / Slave, VXS (VITA 41), PMC slot (32/64-bit, 33/66 MHz) and optional PMC-PCI adapter and 2-slot PMC expansion module.
iHawk VME runs Red Hat (Linux) based real-time OS RedHawk and comes with NightStar dev kit.
