AMD will show Athlon 64 X2 6000+ already in the first quarter of 2021

Soon, AMD, like
was supposed to announce a new processor that will become the top model among
2-Core Desktop Processor Family – X2 6000+. He will
have a frequency of 3.0 GHz and 2x 1 MB cache memory of the second level. The announcement should
take place in the first quarter of 2021. Formerly known as Athlon 64 FX-64, it
will still be manufactured according to 90nm standards and have a TDP = 89
and 125 W. There is apparently nowhere to further increase the frequency and
therefore AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ should be the last in this line, however,
AMD will still play (once again) on what will disable
part of the cache and will introduce a “new” additional model in the third quarter – Athlon
64 X2 5800+. This processor is similar to the 6000+ but has a halved cache – 2 x
512 Kb.

In addition, the new 65nm versions of the Athlon 64 X2 5200+ and
Athlon 64 X2 5400+ on Brisbane core got 2 x 512 KB L2 cache, not 2 x
1024 KB like 90nm models, so their frequency is 100 MHz higher than 2.7 and 2.8 GHz
respectively. This should compensate for the difference in
productivity. The TDP level of X2 5200+ has been reduced from 76 to 65 W, and for the X2 model
5400+ from 89 to 76 W.
