SanDisk Announces 4GB microSD Card and 8GB iNAND Module
SanDisk Unveils New Flash Memory Solutions at Barcelona 3GSM World Congress.
4GB microSD High Capacity (SDHC) card is the largest solution in its format to date. The manufacturer says that its capacity will be enough to store thousands of music tracks, two thousand digital photos or eight hours of video in MPEG4 format.
SanDisk is currently shipping trial batches of these products to its partners. Their use in mobile phones will require a firmware update of the latest.

The second new product announced by SanDisk is the iNAND embedded flash memory module. It is compatible with the SD interface and should soon find its application in mobile devices with support for digital television, streaming video. Other applications for the SanDisk iNAND, which currently have capacities of up to 8GB, include media players, handheld game consoles, GPS receivers, PDAs.
Just like the previous product, iNAND is in testing with SanDisk partners. Mass production is scheduled for the third quarter of this year.
