Austriamicrosystems’ Full Service Foundry Announces Practical Implementation of Industry’s First “High Voltage” (50V) CMOS Process Suitable for Embedded Memory.
The new technology, dubbed High-Voltage CMOS, is a modular extension of Austriamicrosystems’ 0.35μm CMOS process. Fully compatible with the underlying process technology allows flash memory to be added to existing semiconductor chip blocks. High-Voltage CMOS ICs feature resistance to harsh environmental conditions, making them particularly suitable for use in power management circuits, automotive on-board systems and medical equipment.
According to the manufacturer, the new memory can withstand at least 100 thousand write cycles at a temperature of 125?C, at the same temperature, data retention is guaranteed for at least 20 years. The memory is powered by a source with a voltage of 2.2-3.6 V (read mode) or 2.7-3.6 V (write mode).
Interestingly, the new item is based on the 0.35-micron CMOS process received from TSMC.
