InPlay pens are “perfect” for Microsoft Windows Vista
As you know, all versions of Windows Vista, with the exception of Home Basic, have built-in support for pen input. According to InPlay Technologies, the technology it developed and the devices it builds (allegedly the only ones on the market to use “digital streaming”) are “ideally suited” to the new pen input features of Windows Vista.
Recall that the mentioned technology was first introduced on the market under the FinePoint Innovations brand at the end of 2021. InPlay hardware now allows original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to integrate pen input support into their Windows Vista products. This is a MagicPoint system consisting of a digitizer mounted in parallel to an LCD panel and a pen. InPlay’s wireless digital pen communicates with a computer using radio waves. Two pen options available: self-powered and without built-in battery.
Windows Tablet Technology, embodied in Windows Vista, dramatically enhances pen navigation, making it an extremely useful and powerful device, according to information released by Microsoft. In particular, Windows Vista users will be able to assign commands or assign certain actions to simple strokes (in the terminology of OS developers – “flicks”). Another tool, the Handwriting Recognition Personalization Tool, allows a person to adapt the work of the handwriting recognition mechanism to the peculiarities of handwriting and customize the work of the pen for comfortable use as a mouse.
