May 22,  · PCI\VEN_&DEV_&CC_0C PCI\VEN_&DEV_&CC_0C Thanks in advance! 0 KudosEstimated Reading Time: 6 mins. Jun 08,  · PCI\VEN_&DEV_1C22&CC_0C This device is also known as: Synaptics SMBus Driver, ELAN SMBus Driver, SAMSUNG SMBus Driver. Hey all! I have a XPS and I’ve got the yellow exclamation point next to “SM Bus Controller” in my device manager. I downloaded the chipset driver and installed it but the exclamation is still there. Do I need a different driver? ANY help would be much appreciated!

Solved: SM Bus Controller driver – Dell Community
SMSC EMC2101 and EMC2102 controllers know how to control fans

Engineers who design personal computers and other devices that run high-performance microcircuits (such as CPUs and GPUs) face a problem with heat dissipation. The more powerful the chip, the more heat it generates. The EMC2101 and EMC2102 controllers presented recently by Standard Microsystems (SMSC) are designed to solve the problem of managing the operation of the heat removal system.

Microcircuit EMC2101 – “fan” controller of general purpose. It uses an 8-digit table to control the fan, which matches the fan speed with temperature readings from an external sensor.

External fan control is provided, which may be needed in critical situations, and the option to automatically load the setpoint table from ROM, which is useful in systems that do not have a central controller. In addition, the Automatic Beta Compensation function ensures correct operation with different diodes, and the Resistance Error Correction function reduces the dependence on the resistance of the contact lines and eliminates the need to adjust the controller (the correction is performed automatically when the resistance value is up to 100 Ohm). By the way, in this respect, the controller resembles the temperature sensors of the EMC14XX family recently presented by the company. Other EMC2101 features include user-programmable PWM frequency, linear regulator with 6-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC).

A similar model EMC2102 is for laptops. It features a 5 x 5 mm 28-pin chassis, linear fan controller and four temperature sensors.

EMC2101 and EMC2102 previews are now available, slated for serial production in Q1 2021. Controllers are priced at $ 0.95 and $ 1.75 per unit, respectively.
